The Agency for Rural Affairs serves farm enterprises, farmers, rural microenterprises, and rural development actors from village associations to universities. The Agency manages the implementation of support payments to farmers, financial and development aid in rural areas and market support. However, the contacts with farmers in matters relating to support payments will continue to be the managed at the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment and municipal rural business authorities.
The customers of the Agency include food industry and food trade companies. Through the school milk subsidy scheme, communication and sales promotion programmes co-funded by the EU and the EU food aid the Agency serves schools, municipalities, parishes and various associations.
The cooperation partners of the Agency also include companies that provide storage facilities for intervention.
