Intervention programme for skimmed milk powder

Skimmed milk powder is bought in the European Union into intervention storage at a fixed price to the maximum quantity of the quota of 109 000 tonnes. Purchases are possible between 1st March and 31st August. Once the quota is fulfilled, purchases may, when deemed necessary by the European Commission, be continued through a tender procedure. The confirmed intervention price of milk powder is 169,80 euros/100 kg.

Skimmed milk powder is sold from intervention storage following the decisions of the European Commission. Milk powder in intervention storage is also submitted to the EU’s food assistance programme. Information on each quantity offered for sale from the intervention storages in Finland is available on this website of the Finnish Agency of Rural Affairs. The quantities put up for sale are based on the discretion of the Commission and instructions given to the authorities administering intervention programme in each member state. In Finland, the intervention programmes are administered by the Finnish Agency for Rural Affairs.
